Four-day Online Advanced Yoga Practices (AYP) Retreat

Kundalini Awakening

9th to 12th February 2023

Time zone - London U.K.

This retreat will be taking place online from Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th February 2023.

During the retreat we will look at many aspects of the process of kundalini awakening:

  • A brief history of kundalini.
  • An overview of the major energetic channels (nadis), and energy centres (chakras) in the body.
  • What causes kundalini to awaken?
  • Pre-awakening: preparing the body.
  • The mid stages of an awakening: how we need to alter our practices to accommodate the energetic flows.
  • The higher stages of awakening: The merging of ecstasy and bliss (Shakti and Shiva).
  • The completion stages: The activation of the crown and heart and living from a place of divine love and freedom (moksha).
  • Working with emotions that arise.
  • Managing siddhis (psychic powers).

The retreat will be led in English. Class times are in London (UK) time.

To take part, it is recommended to be in a quiet location, where you can focus on your spiritual practices over the course of the event.

“Everyone can sense the truth inside, how special each of us is. We are always on the edge of knowing who and what we are. It is so close, a part of us, but seemingly just out of reach… The essential ingredient in this is your desire. You can open your gateway to the infinite if you choose to.” [Yogani]

“The awakening, once it begins, is an experience of energy rising and also expanding outwards, at first often radiating outwards from the spinal column, or heart and then later radiating out from the whole body. In the early stages, kundalini can be experienced as heat, or as electrical currents running through the body, but later on it is experienced as ecstasy. At first the ecstasy is localised, flowing in tiny rivers or currents of energy in different parts of the body. Gradually, the ecstasy expands to fill the whole body, and will radiate out beyond the body’s boundaries. At this point it feels as if every cell of the body is vibrating with euphoria.” [Tristan]
