AYP Yoga Teacher Training Course Public Reviews

"It was an amazing experience in general. The teachers and students worked hard to grow together. Great tips and insights were shared from each person to show how they all have different styles and teaching techniques."

"Over our month-long journey together on the AYP Teacher Training Course we deeply explored all eight limbs of yoga, not just as an academic exercise but as a set of powerful practices that bring about as much purification and spiritual evolution as any person could want. Our teachers gave us clear instructions on how to apply these practices for a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable yogic journey. The retreat environment was very supportive, friendly, fun, and often lighthearted while still remaining professional. It was quite evident that each of our instructors taught us from the perspective of considerable experience and deep inner silence. There were no questions about yoga that our teachers couldn't answer, and no difficulties in practices that they couldn't help us overcome. I greatly deepened my own personal practice, met my yoga family, and had the time of my life."

"Advanced Yoga Practices have changed my life. I don't think that just any other yoga teaching would have. It is because this Yoga system focuses on meditation (and other sitting practices) and not only mainly on asanas. Thus it is full-scope and covers the eight limbs of Yoga . It teaches us how to become autonomous in our practice to transmit that in return to our students. This yoga system has been wonderfully designed and nothing has been left over. It deserves to be well-known, and I believe it will be. The teachers have been fantastic. Passionate, kind, open-minded, funny, very knowledgeable and receptive. And the list could go on and on. The atmosphere within the group was incredible. Like a loving family. This AYP TTC has been one of the most beautiful experiences in my life. So yes, I definitely recommend it! Thank you so much guys... Lots of love."

"This was a very well thought out curriculum and program for yoga and the teachers followed it precisely breathing in depth and life to all elements. It covered all the important elements of Advanced Yoga Practices and allowed us to put them into action with a level of guidance, expertise and dedication that is unheard of. Having often practiced yoga with yoga teachers, I can say that this course covered things that many yoga teachers will not know and all the points that are necessary to guide others in yoga. There were four main teachers and fourteen students on this teacher training and each teacher went beyond the call of duty. I am sure these teachers were there to ensure that we learned to the best of our ability and their presence and teachings ensured just that. It is simply not like any other teacher training that I heard of from all my other yoga teacher friends. The level of individual attention and devotion to yoga by these yogis will pay off. I learned much too from my colleagues, some who have practiced yoga ever since my birth! As a Franco-Japanese from New York, I appreciated too to learn and work with 3 french yogis and 2 Japanese and believe that our work and co-operation will continue beyond frontiers as will working with the other yogis from around the world. I believe my colleagues will transmit what they learned and that as a result of this course, many more will benefit. The reputation of Advanced Yoga Practices and the level of devotion and dedication by yogis practicing it will make it a most effective and well known school of yoga capable of carrying the benefit of yoga down several generations and then some. I have practiced raja yoga with some great yogis (one in his late 90s) most of whom do not have certificates nor would I ever ask them if they had one. So I am not the kind who would have done a teacher training course to obtain a certificate however valuable and desirable from the Yoga Alliance or other. I did take this training course because of 1) the background of the main teacher Tristan Dorling who is as of my experience an enlightened master and a rare one. This yogi radiates from the heart with early experiences beginning at age 3 and throughout his life. He was with us almost all of the time even when other teachers were training us in anatomy, pranyama or other. That also goes the same for the other teachers. Often we had four teachers present for us. Even on Tristan's day off, even if de-hydrated by a day on a boat he was never far. Tristan is more than anything we could have imagined and taught us by his presence what is yoga. His meditations with us carried us elevating us to new heights. Open to all and spending individual time and answering daily questions from me and all students, he surpassed the call of duty. I can not thank you enough Tristan. I also am in debt for the other three teachers on the course Devrim (teaching us pranyama, devotion and helping me integrate my other yogic practices with AYP -- in many ways Devrim felt like family), Blanche Serban (a rare enlightened teacher who also began yoga at a young age and was able to communicate not only asanas but the energetic experience in the body of the asanas and states of being that most can not express in words with a joy and radiance that is her own) and Alex (bringing anatomy to life with particular relevance for a yoga teacher with his gentleness, diplomacy, and humor making those new to anatomy feel at ease). 2) I also took this course primarily because it taught Advanced Yoga Practices (a system of yoga I have tested and found to be the most complete and efficient yoga system to date that I can BOTH practice and teach.) Having studied with some incredible yogis and been taught some complete systems of yoga (which I could learn but not teach), this is a compliment and a recognition to Yogani, the founder of this yoga and his great work publishing and making his full effective system of yoga available to all on the internet, in book form, and now in teacher trainings. AYP taught me all the steps to continue transforming myself and to teach others. Now, I can share what I know with others and also deepen my experience and go further. Even though Yogani was not physically with us, I felt this great yogi's presence and blessing on all of us. He is never far from my heart and spirit. As are all of my great teachers."

"This was a superb training program. I've been studying, practicing, and informally teaching AYP for 7 years now, so this TTC was a major benchmark for me in deepening my devotion to spreading the magic of this open-source system. Great job by Tristan in leading the full month of practices, academics, karma yoga, and other activities. My fellow students from across the world were a joy to learn and bond with. Our last night was full of stillness and ecstasy as we danced our hearts away in the spirit of bhakti, celebration, and divine love. I would highly recommend this certification course to anyone who has a passion for bringing AYP to the community. It's well worth it."

"This course was everything I had hoped and more. Full-scope yoga training taught by true yogis who were both available and approachable. Despite having studied yoga for many years prior to the course, I still learned a tremendous amount. It drew a diverse array of students from all over the world, a group that came to feel more like family than mere friends. My only regret was that it all had to end. I would highly recommend this program to anyone interested in learning to teach about all of the limbs of yoga. There was instruction on how to teach as well as opportunities to implement the instructions, complete with feedback from both instructors and fellow students."

I would thoroughly recommend this course."

"Overall, I think the teachers did a great job guiding us. The program was well thought out and we discussed topics in detail. I do wish that we spend time teaching other asana sequences to help us better prepare for the "real world"."

"I could not be happier with my experience studying under the guidance of Tristan, Devrim, Alex and Blanche. Through the AYP teachings I was able to deepen my love and appreciation not only for asana, but also the mental, spiritual, cultural and philosophical realms of this traditional practice. I would highly recommend AYP TTC to anyone interested in learning to teach full-scope yoga. The teachers were very effective in guiding the students through the practice of yoga. I feel that their guidance has deepened my personal practice in numerous ways. The teachers shared a lot of practical knowledge on how to teach yoga including asana adjustments and lesson planning. I enjoyed the practice teaching sessions."

"I had a wonderful experience in Moulin De Chaves during my AYP course. The training was placed in a safe learning environment, and the teachers are highly skilled. Being an academically educated teacher myself, I was happy to see how the overall programme fit together, form the practical and theoretical content to the precision of the classes. This was more than a retreat and teachers training, it was also a wonderful social experience with ambitious and intelligent people from all over the world. The teachers were all highly qualified and professional. I will definitely seek their training in my continuous professional development. From theory to the teaching assessment, Tristan, Devrim and Alex guided us in a way that I felt completely secure, and I now feel absolutely qualified to teach yoga in a safe, ethical and professional manner."
